Lift Access Control System in Kuching, Sarawak

Card or face-controlled floor selection — residents reach their own floor, visitors reach only where they're invited, and every trip is logged.

What It Is

Floor-by-Floor Access Control

Lift access control extends your door access system into the elevator itself. A card reader or facial recognition terminal — in the lift car or at the lobby — connects through a relay controller to the lift's floor-selection circuit, so each person can only select the floors their credential is authorised for. A level-12 resident reaches level 12 and the facilities floor; they can't wander onto other residential levels.

  • Card, PIN or facial recognition floor selection
  • Visitor temporary floor permissions (QR or temp card)
  • One platform with your door access — same card, same software

How It Works

Reader, Relay, Lift Interface

Credential Reader

A card/PIN reader or face terminal in the lift car or at the lift lobby identifies who is requesting a floor.

Relay Controller

A multi-relay controller sits between the reader and the lift's floor buttons — only authorised floors are enabled for that person's trip.

Lift Interface Coordination

Connection into the lift's floor-selection circuit is coordinated with your lift maintenance contractor — we handle this as part of the project, not leave it to you.

Platforms

Integrated With Your Door Access System

We install lift access on the same platforms as our door access systems — Hikvision, EntryPass and MicroEngine — so one card or face profile covers building entry, office doors and lift floors, all managed from a single software. Visitor floor permissions can also tie into a visitor management system for QR-based temporary access.

Common Configurations

  • Resident card = home floor + facilities floors only
  • Staff face profile = office floor during working hours
  • Visitor QR = one floor, one time window
  • Fireman/emergency override per lift code requirements
FAQ

Lift Access Control Questions

How does lift access control actually work?
A card reader or face terminal in the lift car (or at the lift lobby) connects to a relay controller wired into the lift's floor-selection circuit. Residents or staff can only select the floors their credential is authorised for — a resident of level 12 can reach level 12 and shared facilities, but not other residential floors.
Can lift access work with our existing door access cards?
In most cases yes — if the lift access system is from the same platform family (Hikvision, EntryPass, MicroEngine), one card or face profile can cover both doors and lift floors, managed from the same software.
Does installing lift access require the lift manufacturer's involvement?
The access system interfaces with the lift's floor-selection wiring through relay control, and coordination with the lift maintenance contractor is usually required for the interface connection. We handle this coordination as part of the project.
Can visitors be given temporary floor access?
Yes — visitor management integration can issue QR codes or temporary cards limited to a specific floor and time window, so a visitor can reach only the unit or office they're visiting.
