HJ SECURITY · KUCHING & SARAWAK

Light the stage, and keep the controls simple.

Stage lighting for halls, schools and event spaces in Kuching. HJ plans the fixtures, the DMX512 control and the power and distribution behind them, so the hall team can set up for each event without starting from scratch.

THE STARTING POINT

What a good stage lighting plan covers.

Light for what happens on stage

A speaker, a band and a wedding need different light. Describe the events first, then the fixtures and their positions follow.

Presets the hall team can use

Common looks can be saved as presets, so the team recalls one instead of building it each time. Control follows the DMX512 standard, from a desk, a preset panel or both.

Power and distribution come first

Lighting load, dimming and cable routes are planned with the distribution board and the supply. HJ handles the electrical side as well as the lighting.

SYSTEMS & SCOPE

The venue around the lighting.

Stage lighting works with the hall, the sound and the supply behind it. These are the connected pieces and the service pages for existing lighting.

Planning that fits the stage.

New hall or renovation

  • Provide the floor plan, the stage size and the ceiling or rigging height.
  • List the events and who will operate the lighting.
  • Agree the distribution board, supply and control position before ceilings and finishes are fixed.

Existing stage

  • Describe the problem: a dim stage, tripping breakers, fixtures that no longer respond or a desk nobody can use.
  • HJ checks the fixtures, cabling, DMX control and supply before recommending changes.
  • Fixtures in good condition that suit the new control stay in service.

USEFUL ANSWERS

Stage lighting questions, answered.

Is stage lighting part of a hall AV package?

It can be. HJ plans lighting together with the LED wall and sound where a hall needs all three, and quotes each part so the scope stays clear.

How are the lights controlled?

Most stage fixtures are controlled over DMX512, from a lighting desk, a simple preset panel or both. The control position and the preset list are agreed during planning.

Who provides the power for stage lighting?

HJ handles the electrical side too: the cabling, the distribution board and the supply the lighting needs, single-phase or three-phase. Regulated electrical work is confirmed separately after assessment.

Can you repair or reprogramme the lighting we already have?

Yes, where the fixtures and control can be inspected. HJ traces the fault or the cue list first, then agrees repair, reprogramming or replacement.

Who is responsible for hanging points and structure?

Hanging points and structure are planned with the venue and the appointed structural party. HJ confirms safe access before any work at height.

Do you offer a free site survey?

Yes. Site surveys for new installations are free. After the survey HJ confirms the scope and the quotation.
