Proactive Plus CCTV Upgrade Planning in Kuching
Proactive Plus is a specified upgrade direction for a Proactive installation, considering IP processing, requested event functions and optional response equipment. It is useful when the customer needs more than the base camera-warning workflow. The exact upgrade is a site design, not a universal recorder, channel-count or performance specification.

System planning notes
Match a requested function to a specified upgrade path
The diagram distinguishes retained camera work, processing choices and optional external response.
- Solid line: illustrated functional path or agreed test route.
- Dashed line: optional device or compatibility to confirm.
- Dashed branches are upgrade choices or compatibility still to confirm.
- No independent alarm panel or numeric performance improvement is implied by the Plus name.

Start with the result the upgrade should deliver
Identify the rule that is missing
Explain which area, target, direction or operating period needs a different response. A request for better detection should become an actual function to verify, such as a supported line rule, rather than an unspecified promise of more AI.
Separate recording and processing requirements
An input can be recorded without the recorder performing every requested analysis on it. Camera-side events and recorder-side functions use different resources. The design should identify the processing location and supported mode for each requested function.
What could change in the installed system
Check the existing equipment first
An upgrade may retain suitable analogue cameras or introduce compatible IP equipment. The route depends on the existing recorder, connections, network and selected functions. Plus does not mean every older cable or camera must be replaced automatically.
Specify the additional processing path
The actual camera and recorder models must establish the proposed event capacity and simultaneous operating conditions. Until those are confirmed, the Plus discussion does not publish doubled channels or an assumed improvement in accuracy or reliability.
Response devices remain a separate decision
Retain camera warning as the base response
The corresponding Proactive camera-warning workflow remains the starting point. An independent alarm panel is not included by the Proactive Plus name. Review Defence Plus if independent arming and a separate alarm siren are required.
Assess optional external equipment
An Air Horn or additional strobe needs an appropriate trigger interface, power provision, mounting position and agreed use. Optional equipment should be visible in the discussion without being automatically selected or treated as already installed.
Validate the change against the original need
Compare the requested operating modes
Use the agreed day and night routes and normal authorised activity to test the selected configuration. Confirm the actual event and output, not just that an upgraded recorder can display more cameras.
Record retained and upgraded components
Handover should identify what was kept, what changed, the approved settings and how the customer operates exceptions. Any measured improvement needs a defined baseline and test method; a channel number cannot supply that evidence.
Questions about Proactive Plus
Does Plus always double the available AI channels?
No universal doubling claim is made. The Pro versus non-Pro comparison is separate, and any event-channel capacity needs exact equipment, function, mode and evidence.
Is an alarm panel included in Proactive Plus?
Not by default. Proactive Plus starts from the Proactive response scope. Independent alarm equipment belongs in a separately defined Defence or other approved alarm scope.
Can Plus be discussed before the final models are selected?
Yes. HJ can establish the required function and site conditions first. Exact equipment and compatibility remain to confirm rather than being filled with guessed specifications.
